Please help. I really need a degree.

Please help. I really need a degree. -- Posted by Cpeters1@adelphia.net on 10-12-04 19:21

Hello,

I am 20 years old, and have made the mistake of going straight to work
after graduating high-school. I've also managed to run up some debt,
and therefore have an obligation to continue working full-time. I'm an
auto-technician, and hold master ASE certification. Regardless of
this, I do not make good money, nor do I have much enthusiasm about
staying committed to this miserable line of work. I've recently
started part-time training to become a pilot. I hope that in 5 years I
can have all the necessary flight training needed to qualify for a
good job in aviation. One additional thing I know I will need is a
4-year degree. As you might imagine, I have absolutely no time to even
set foot inside a classroom, but I must get a 4-year degree. My
question is whether or not it is possible to get a 4-year degree
entirely online, and about how long it would take. Also, can I use my
Master ASE certification towards credits in any way??? ASE
certification requires that you have been in the auto service industry
for 2 years, so again I was wondering if I could possibly substitute
it for credits or not.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking at bain4weeks.com. I thought it was a good place to get
started. You might want to think about what kind of degree you want, not
just having a bachelor's degree. That will seriously affect what options
are open to you.

You can apply for an online school like Athabasca University in Canada.
Athabasca's degrees are recognized in the US and around the world.
Athabasca's MBA school was ranked in the top 75 MBA schools by the
Financial Times.

You can probably finish a 4 year degree in 2.5 years if you take it non-
stop with no summer vacations. Another option would be to get a 3-year
degree... and upgrade the three year to a four year if you have time (and
if the school allows it). Or nyou can get a 3 year degree and apply for a
masters program afterwards.

Dear Lucas,

If you think you have some college credit units and a large amount of
valuable working experience, you can be awarded a degree under the French
VAE Law, which allows educational establishments to award degrees based on
one's past academic achievement and valuable working experience. If you are
interested in this degree program, you may write to me for more details.
Thank you!

Yours sincerely,
Dormuk

Hi Lucas: I am a continuing student and I have some experience that
is helping me achieve my goals but I can't pass the test to prove my
work experience. However, the gratification I get from using my work
experience to apply to my current classes is worth all of the extra
work I have to do. I understand that you have to be able to pass
prerequisite tests to prove your work experience. Good Luck! Rosie
