Become radioligist at 46?

Become radioligist at 46? -- Posted by me@privacy.net on 11-15-04 11:48

Hi all.....

Im 46 yr old man looking for a new career.

I currently do computer aided rafting and design. Have
strong computer skills. Always did well in school

I do NOT have any kind of college degree but am slowly
taking various college classes and have abt 12 hrs
credit so far.

Ive had college english comp, college algebra,
accounting, drafting and CAD classes.

Would some of you all be so kind as to advise me if
getting a degree in radiology at my age is doable?

If yes... what will be involved in my training?

(assuming you are in the united states)

you would need to get a college degree.
you would need to complete and excel in the basic sciences such as
chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, and physics
you would need to take and excel on the medical college admissions test
(MCAT)
you would need to apply and get accepted to medical school
you would need to complete 4 years of medical training and obtain a D.O. or
M.D. degree
you would need to apply for and obtain a postgraduate residency training
position at an accredited radiology training program. radiology residency
training takes a minimum of 4 years (if i'm still current).

all told:

4 years college
4 years medical school
4 years residency
= at least 12 more years to reach your goal.
