DeVry University To Open New Fort Worth Location

Business Wire - July 12, 2004

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Focus on Master's and Bachelor's Degree Programs for Working Adults

DeVry University, one of North America's leading career-oriented institutions for business, technology and management education, will open a new facility at 301 Commerce Street, Fort Worth, in the City Tower II building. Classes at the DeVry University center will begin in September.

DeVry University programs are designed to appeal to working professionals. Flexible program offerings taught by faculty with real-world experience are offered at a location that is convenient for working adults. At the new Fort Worth location, DeVry will offer undergraduate degree programs as well as the graduate degree programs of its Keller Graduate School of Management. Courses are offered during the day, at night, on weekends and online to fit into students' busy schedules.

For most job seekers, improving one's educational credentials leads to a more promising employment outlook. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, a bachelor's degree increases earning potential by an average of 43 percent over those with just a high school diploma. A master's degree increases that advantage to 51 percent.

"We believe there is a strong demand in the Metroplex for programs that offer convenience, flexibility and the opportunity to learn from faculty with industry experience," said Dr. Kathleen Noble, president of DeVry University's Irving campus. "This is particularly true among working professionals looking to enhance their educational foundations or complete their college degrees to make themselves more marketable in today's economy.

"In addition to working professionals, DeVry University will appeal to adults looking to launch their careers," Noble said. "There are an expanding number of high school graduates and community college students with associate degrees who recognize the need for higher education to open doorways to employment opportunities."

Accelerated bachelor's degree programs will be offered in business administration and technical management. Accelerated graduate degree programs will include business administration, information systems management and project management.

DeVry has existing locations in the Metroplex in Irving and Plano.

As one of the largest degree-granting higher education systems in North America, DeVry University provides high-quality, career-oriented associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs in technology, business and management. Approximately 49,000 students are enrolled at its 69 locations that are in 20 states and Canada, as well as through DeVry University Online. DeVry University is based in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.
