NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 1999--
Daniel Kinaman, Education Consultant for USA Video Interactive (OTC BB:USVO)(ASE:US), will lead a panel session at the upcoming Streaming Media East '99 Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City June 29 and 30.
Kinaman will moderate "Distance Learning and Education With Streaming Media" on the second day of the conference. Other panelists include Bob Clyatt, CEO, Horizon Live Distance Learning; Dr. Michael K. Moore, Assistant Professor, University of Texas at Arlington; Rob Gould, Adjunct Professor, The Columbia Graduate School of Journalism; and Chris O'Brien, President, Softcom, Inc.
Kinaman's vast knowledge of education and technology, particularly the effective application of technology within public school systems, has helped USA Video Interactive provide highly effective and cost-efficient Video-on-Demand(tm) systems and solutions to these markets. USA Video Interactive currently has demonstration programs underway in which the top video content from the world's leading educational video libraries -- AGC/United Learning Educational Media, Phoenix Learning Group and Lucerne Media -- is digitized, compressed with the USA Video Interactive Wavelet technology and placed on USA Video Interactive servers for true Video-on-Demand(tm) access by schools via the Intranet or Internet.
Kinaman has been an Education Consultant to many companies including Compaq (NYSE: CPQ) and other companies in educational technology markets. He is the Publisher of Curriculum Administrator, a highly regarded publication for school executives and administrators.
Streaming Media East '99 is the world's largest independent Conference and Exhibition for Internet content providers and businesses involved in streaming audio, video and multimedia on the Internet or over their corporate Intranet. Details of the conference are available at the conference website: www.streamingmedia.net.
USA Video Interactive is an international designer and supplier of high-tech Video-on-Demand(tm) systems, services and solutions. The USA Video Interactive technology allows users to view streaming video or to access digitized video libraries, including movies, sports, other entertainment, educational resources, corporate training seminars and other archives. The USA Video Interactive technology gives users full-motion video; the unique flexibility of standard, VCR-like controls of play, fast forward, reverse and pause; and the convenience of a standard Internet-browser format for access.
USA Video Interactive can utilize MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 compression techniques but prefers its Wavelet compression technology, which is fully compliant with MPEG-4. The USA Video Interactive Wavelet technology allows direct streaming and download & play options; provides video images significantly faster and at a higher degree of resolution than with previously available methods; significantly overcomes bandwidth restrictions; and eliminates the blockiness and slowness of current technologies, all at a lower cost. An essential feature of the USA Video Interactive technology is that it allows extremely high compression ratios while retaining broadcast quality.
