DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2001
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society commissioned the Option Development Center (www.odcenter.com), a locally-owned online education company, to create an online class that will train their chapter staff and volunteers in their communications skills to improve their interactions with people with multiple sclerosis (MS).
"We had two focal points with this project," explains Tracy Todd, President of the Option Development Center (ODC). "First, we needed to keep the technology simple. We knew there would be a wide variety of users with a wide variety of computers accessing this class and we needed to make sure everyone, despite hardware or technical abilities, could fully participate. Second, we needed to make sure the course content was customized for people with MS." To accomplish these goals, the Option Development Center used what they playfully refer to as "SSE" technology, which stands for "Super Simple and Easy." Too often, distance-learning packages get very high-tech. Although high-tech can be glitzy and fun, it quickly decreases the number of users because of computer or skill limitations. Todd comments, "Online learning should emphasize content. If the end user cannot access the material, or is experiencing frustration with the program format, the class is useless."
To accomplish the goal of customization, the Option Development Center created a "skeleton class" for the National MS Society. To enhance the class, National MS Society trainers from around the country combined their knowledge and experience in order to create a customized class. Todd states, "This was truly a team effort. The National MS Society trainers were outstanding in their contributions, and we are proud to have established this business-to-business relationship."
Online education is fast becoming a method of instruction for businesses. The Option Development Center prides itself in helping businesses with their online education needs. For more information, call 720/318-4867 or email Tracy Todd at ttodd@odcenter.com.

Is anyone else having trouble accessing some sites? I have had problems
for about three weeks now. Degree Info is one and my wife has not been
able to pull up pastorswives.org. Wonder if the blackout was partly
responsible.
