LearningStream, Inc. Aggregates Best Providers of Live and Distance Learning in Online Training Library for Professionals

Business Wire - November 18, 1999

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1999--

AMA, Pryor Resources, PBS offer growing list of courses - the "Your LearningStream" program features free installation, co-branding,

commissions/discounts on every course

LearningStream, Inc., the Internet leader in streaming multimedia education, today announced the launch of "Your LearningStream" -- a program providing co-branded multimedia training from the world's best training providers.

With no up-front costs to pay, companies, associations and government agencies can provide instant access to a wide range of top professional training from the biggest names in distance learning and live training: American Management Association, PBS Adult Learning Service, Pryor Resources, PBS The Business Channel, National Technological University (NTU) and others.

"Anyone who is serious about their business has taken, or wanted to take, a course from one of these providers," says Peter Hackes, founder and President of LearningStream. "We're adding a dimension by shooting, packaging and co-branding the courseware as an instant online learning library for organizations and content providers - on-demand, 24 hours a day."

Installation and personalization of "Your LearningStream" is free of charge, and requires only an icon or link from the participant's web or network-based home page. Charges apply only when courses are registered for, generating either discounts for organizations paying for the courseware, or commissions for those selling it.

"Even though AMA offers thousands of seminars each year that reach tens of thousands of AMA members and registrants, we know we could potentially reach an infinitely greater number by making our courses available online," comments Bruce Alper, CIO, American Management Association.

"Now with "Your LearningStream", people can take a three-day seminar over the course of three months if they want to at a time and location that's convenient for them."

Courses available in "Your LearningStream" include top names such as "Tom Peters' Circle of Innovation" from PBS The Business Channel, classics such as "How to Supervise People" from Pryor Interactive Online Learning and "Partnering with Your Boss: Strategic Skills for Executive Secretaries & Administrative Assistants" from American Management Association, plus cutting edge topics like "Innovative Uses of the Web to Enhance Learning" from PBS Adult Learning Service and "Internet Firewalls" from NTU.

"We're in the online learning business, and expect to offer our affiliated organizations a wide variety of content from current provider/partners, plus some proprietary courses that LearningStream is producing for us," says Bruce Berglind, Director of Cendant Corporation's Hospitality University by Brand (HUBB).

"HUBB just couldn't pass up the chance to offer courses from such solid providers as Pryor Resources, AMA and others." HUBB is joined by ERA Real Estate and several others piloting the "Your LearningStream" program prior to its full launch, June 1, 2000.

Each user who clicks through the "Your LearningStream" icon or link on a company's home page is tagged with a special ID, which generates either a commission or discount for that company. The "instant" online learning library can be accessed through the Internet or locally on a company LAN with minimal web access.

"Your LearningStream" features fully automated e-commerce; registration, tracking, and performance reports on users; interactive assessment and other interactive elements; as well as bandwidth options from 8.5k to 80k.

For more information on "Your LearningStream" or other LearningStream products and services, call Michael Ratigan, 703-823-4050, x108, or email mike@learningstream.net.
