FORE Systems Inc has been chosen by Taiwan's National Broadband Experimental Network (NBEN) to provide its backbone system to enable NBEN to build a national network infrastructure that supports advanced Internet broadband applications. NBEN, which is part of a project promoted by the Taiwan National Science Council, will use the broadband applications, such as video on demand, data/voice/video integration and distance learning, to enhance its research programmes.
