Campus Pipeline Inc. Launches Institute And Consulting Service - Brief Article - Statistical Data Included

Platform provider Campus Pipeline Inc. (Salt Lake City) has added a consulting service and a training facility to help its customers integrate disparate technology and functions with its primary product, its Web platform 3.0.
The services will be made available to Campus Pipeline customers in three service bundles, each with consulting, service and training. Premium service bundles include process and organizational design, development and integration of specialized technology, customized training and campus-wide support.
Campus Pipeline Carves Niche
In a market dominated by WebCT (Lynnfield, MA), Blackboard (Washington) and eCollege (Denver), Campus Pipeline is carving out a niche, albeit small, as a tool and service provider for college campuses. It has partnered with WebCT, providing its infrastructure to WebCT customers. Because it does not offer its own distance learning courses, Campus Pipeline provides access to the courses available through WebCT. In addition to WebCT, Campus Pipeline partners with SCT (Malvern, PA) to provide campus intranet services. SCT provides student information including financial aid, enrollment management and other administrative services.
Still, compared to eCollege's customer roster of 222, Blackboard's 1,800 licensed institutions and WebCT's 2,100-plus colleges and universities, Campus Pipeline holds the upstart market position with 65 customers, including Pepperdine University and University of Idaho.
The Utah-based company is banking on its platform's ability to integrate e-mail, campus news, administrative services, academic services and distance learning content, all through a single user log-in. "We view Blackboard and WebCT as providers of tools, but that experience can be confusing because of the different layers users have to go through to access them," said Tyler Thatcher, vice president of corporate finance at Campus Pipeline.
However, Blackboard promises a similar level of integration with its platform, Blackboard 5. The company says its advanced course and portal manager service bundle, can unify diverse online campus systems into one platform with a single log-in delivery. Thatcher acknowledged that other companies are trying to provide the same level of integration with their products.
Campus Pipeline's Web-based intranet caters to both the day-campus environment and adult learners. The company's customers include colleges such as Rollins College in Florida with predominantly traditional-age student bodies and community colleges such as the Illinois Eastern Community College district.
Contact: Campus Pipeline can be reached at (888) 682-7473 or at www.campuspipeline.com. WebCT can be reached at (781) 309-1000 or at www.webct.com. Blackboard can be reached at (202) 463-4860 or at www.blackboard.com. ECollege can be reached at (303) 233-5300 or at www.ecollege.com.

Actually, Dave dropped the name of a law firm once when threatening me. I
called them, offering to participate in any way I could. They said they'd
heard of him and thought he was a, well, you know. They declined to pursue
the matter.
