Careers and Colleges
-
September 1, 2003
We refer to CAREERS & COLLEGES magazine as "your guide to a successful future" with good reason. The team that puts it together spends countless hours researching the latest information that you need to know about topics that will have a tremendous impact on your future.
Whether you're thinking of going away to a four-year college, staying home and going to a local four-year college, two-year college, or trade/technical/specialized skill school, investigating distance learning, heading right into a career, or are uncertain how to determine what to do, this issue of CAREERS & COLLEGES is full of information to help you. Just check out the Table of Contents on the page 3 and you'll see what I mean.
We also encourage you to check out our Web site, CareersAndColleges.com. It now has a scholarship search engine to help you find money for college and a tool to help you match your career interests to college majors and vice-versa. You'll also find lots of other stuff to help you prepare for a successful future.
Over the school year our upcoming issues are:
HOW TO PAY FOR COLLEGE (November/December 2003)
The ultimate guide to paying for college and other post-secondary education. Topics covered include scholarships, loans, the FAFSA, and ways to cut the cost of education.
CAREERS 2004 (January/February 2004)
An extensive guide to help you explore career options. This issue includes a career assessment test and a look at people in hot fields and how they got there.
LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL (March/April 2004)
A primer to adjusting to life at college or in a career. Articles cover life on campus, surviving the everyday stuff, fiscal fitness, what to pack for college, and review of cool gear.
But, being a success isn't just about hard work. You need to know how to relax, as well. We have a way to help you do both. Return the form that appears after page 24 and you can not only enter a contest to win a family vacation in Hawaii from Apple Vacations, you can sign up to receive useful e-mail updates from us or information from our sponsors.
Your future is yours to make. But it will take work on your part to explore all the options open to you and find what suits you best. We're here to help. Spending time in our pages and on our Web site, and even going through the material a few times will improve your chances of getting the future you desire. But, if can think of ways to improve the information we provide or of other topics that we need to cover, please e-mail me at paul@careersandcolleges.com.
