Sundance Publishing (Littleton, MA), a K-12 publisher and subsidiary of Haights Cross Communications (Boston), has announced several executive appointments. Fred Johnson, Sundance's president since 1993, was named Sundance chairman and vice president of internal development at Haights Cross Communications. Robert Laronga has been promoted to president, a move that was expected (EM, Dec. 13, 1999). Laronga, a former senior vice president and publisher at Perfection Learning, joined Sundance in October 1999 as executive vice president.
The McGraw-Hill Companies (New York) has named Patricia Leonard president of its McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning unit, which provides business and technical training for companies and individuals. Leonard's duties will include helping accelerate the unit's growth opportunities, especially in the areas of distance learning and custom publishing. She will report to Henry Hirschberg, president of The McGraw-Hill Companies Higher Education, Professional and International Publishing Group. Leonard was most recently senior vice president of business development for Pearson Education in its Higher Education and Professional Publishing Group.
John Thorenson, a former vice president and director of sales and marketing at Pearson Education, has been named president of J. Weston Walch (Portland, ME), a secondary supplemental publisher of reading, math, science and social studies materials.

whole degree and in my opinion bigger and better known and rumoured to
