Siebel eBusiness Application Integration Siebel eBusiness Applications Integration (EAI) provides organizations with an open and extensible architecture that significantly reduces the cost of integrating to and from external systems. Siebel eBusiness 2000 leverages industry-standard integration technologies such as XML, CORBA, COM, and IBM MQSeries, making Siebel eBusiness 2000 the most connectable suite of eBusiness application software available. The new Siebel EAI infrastructure provides business process automation tools along with standard transports to speed and streamline the integration process, empowering organizations with unified access to their customer information. Key components of Siebel EAI include:
-- Enhanced Siebel Connectors to SAP, Great Plains and JD Edwards ERP applications for pre-built, out-of-the-box, back office application integration;
-- New Connectors to Lawson and Oracle ERP applications;
-- Siebel XML for exchange of richly structured data and documents between applications;
-- Siebel Adapters for bi-directional messaging between applications, including support for industry standards such as HTTP, CORBA , COM, IBM MQSeries, SAP BAPIs and SAP IDOC;

-- Flexible Integration Solutions allowing Siebel customers and business partners to define custom integration solutions leveraging existing interfaces and middleware products, or to create connectors directly to external applications. Defined using Siebel Tools, these integration solutions are completely configurable and upgradeable.
New Sales, Marketing and Service Functionality Siebel eBusiness 2000 provides new functionality in Siebel Systems' Sales, Marketing and Service applications, widening the gap between these best-of-class products and competing offerings.

Siebel Wireless and Siebel Voice Siebel Wireless and Siebel Voice bring together wireless communications, the Internet, and Siebel eBusiness content to create a powerful new Siebel deployment option -- the mobile phone. The new Siebel Wireless application enables field sales and service users, channel partners, and even customers to access time-critical Siebel data directly from the corporate database. For example, a field service representative checking on the price of a spare part might use her mobile phone to locate the information in a Siebel application. Siebel Wireless works seamlessly with the other Siebel eBusiness 2000 applications and supports any mobile phone or access device incorporating the Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) standard for mobile, wireless communications and Internet access.
The new Siebel Voice application uses voice recognition technology to facilitate telephone access to customer information. By simply talking with Siebel Voice through the phone, users can get new leads, receive new service requests, check their calendars, and more. This gives field sales and service professionals immediate access to customer information, whether they are in the car, in the office, or at the customer site.
New Industry Applications Functionality Siebel Industry Applications 2000, planned for release in the summer of 2000, include applications designed especially for such industries as apparel and footwear, automotive, consumer goods, communications, energy, finance, healthcare, insurance, life sciences, and the public sector. By deploying Siebel Industry Applications, customers can significantly reduce the time and costs associated with customizing
traditional applications and can take immediate advantage of industry-specific functionality and best practices. In Siebel eBusiness 2000, each industry application offers significant new .COM applications functionality, providing personalized applications for sales, marketing, customer service, and channel management over the Web. In addition, each industry application takes advantage of Siebel EAI to enable seamless integration with industry-specific back-office systems.
