Touchpoint Adds Seasoned CTO to Senior Management Ranks; Sheng-Yang Chiu, Ph.D. Joins Web-Based Personalized Communications Firm

EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Touchpoint(R), Inc., a leading provider of automated personalized communications for enterprises and consumers, today announced the appointment of Sheng-Yang Chiu to the position of Chief Technology Officer.
Chiu has worked in a series of web and communication technology areas including extended-enterprise supply chain management, digital multimedia content management, online distance learning, distributed computation, wireless and interactive TV. Most recently he held CTO positions at Universitas 21 Global, ECnet and Capella University. Previously he held key technical positions at Silicon Graphics, GO Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Dr. Chiu began his career pioneering communication protocols for the first wide-area data network in the world, the ARPAnet, at Bolt, Beranek and Newman in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Continuing research based on ARPAnet initiatives eventually provided the foundation for the Internet.
Al Hulvey, Touchpoint's President and CEO, said of the appointment, "We are extremely pleased to have someone of Sheng-Yang's stature join our executive team. He will lead us in utilizing technology to magnify the volume of personalized print and digital communications our customers make in both their personal and business lives."
Chiu holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.S. and B.A. from Harvard University.
