St. Andrews Hospital Receives Grant for Tetemedicine

Healthcare Review - October 22, 2001

Boothbay Harbor - St. Andrews Hospital, a rural seaside community hospital, has a received grant for $115,000 from the US Department of Agriculture to coordinate additional medical care services using advanced technological communications and telecommunications without having to travel long distances. The new telemedicine opportunities will allow the hospital to electronically transport medical care into the most remote areas. The grant is part of a $114 million USDA initiative to fund telemedicine and distance learning projects nationwide.
